Some Changes

I love this pict of Lance! It was taken in September and he’s trying to look into the camera lens 🙂

Hi everyone! As you may have noticed, I have been pretty quiet lately. As the people who follow me on Facebook already know we are going through a rough patch with our son Lance. And because of the stress we have all been sick, my health problems are flared, and I have been down on my back.

While I will still try to post recipes I will be way slowing down so I can take care of my family and my health. I hope to post maybe 2 recipes a month until things settle down.

If you want to know what we are eating I’ve still been active on Pinterest. As I see recipes (I subscribe to soooo many recipes sites!) I post them to my “More Recipes” board. If I make the recipe and we absolutely love it I move it to the “Recipes That Shine” board.

Besides the recipes you will find on my Pinterest page we’ve just been eating really simple: salads, soups, spaghetti, tacos, frozen pizzas, and some of the easier recipes from my“What’s For Dinner?” page… all gluten and dairy free of coarse.

I’ve also been relying heavily on store-bought gluten free snacks, fruit, and lots of raw veggies with my ranch dip.

Without going into detail I just thought I would let everyone know the change to my site. Thanks for understanding 🙂

Cassidy

  1. Cassidy-

Hope you all are feeling strong and doing well very soon. Flare-ups and trials can be so hard. We’ll all be here when you’re back to posting.

Take good care of yourself and your family.

PS – I’m not trying to push this on you in ANY way – only trying to be helpful – so no pressure on you. My nutrition consultant, Julia McRae, C.N., has worked wonders for my health as well our daughter’s. If you’d like her number, just let me know. Take care-

  2. What a beautiful picture! I’m sorry things are difficult right now! I have been reading your blog for probably a year now and I appreciate so many of your recipes, so I just wanted to say thank you, and I hope you and your family feel better soon.

  3. Such a beautiful pic of my beautiful grandson! Hopefully everyone will be feeling better very soon!

  4. Thank you so much for all of the nice comments!

Jen- We have a doctor we are working with right now but I will definitely keep you in mind and get in touch with you if I need the nutrition consultants number. Thank you so much!

I don’t know if you remember talking to me on the phone last year or not, but i too have a son very similar to yours. I’m very sorry to hear of the setback, yet i know exactly how it is. We are trying new homeopathic things on my son the past 3 weeks. So he has to go through that stage of getting worse before he gets better, if that makes sense. I’m hoping it’ll help but we’ve had several setback days lately. Its stressful on the whole family, especially us moms, which does affect our health. But i know you are like me and wouldn’t have it any other way. We want the best for our kids and just want them to feel better. I just wanted you to know you are being thought of. And if you ever want to talk, please call. Id love that! We might be able to help each other with ideas that have worked before. Keeping your family in my prayers. Sara Silverhorn

  6. Hi Sara!
Of coarse I remember you! I hope the homeopathic thing works and the worse part is over. We are doing some homeopathic things too but nothing that would cause his latest issues. Thank you for thinking of us and I’ll be thinking and praying for you too. Call me anytime as well!
    Thank you so much,
    Cassidy

  7. Love your blog and recipes, you are doing a great service. I have an 8 year old son with Aspergers. We’ve been gfcf for years, but he is also sensitive to chocolate, eggs, anything with grapes, soy, and any kind of food coloring or preservatives.

I’m in my kitchen all the time 🙂

I also wanted to throw this out there…I was giving my son Udis and Rudy’s bread on occasion, and both caused almost seizure like behavior. I’m Celiac, and after eating it for a while, I get sick as well.

No idea if this will help, but we went through hell with my son for 6months before I figured out it was the bread. So many times, when things got really bad,it ended up being an allergy or intolerance to something.

This is such a hard road to travel, and I think it takes a tremendous toll on our health. I wish you the best, and hope things turn around soon!
