Hello, I am so glad to have found your blog. I recently found out (at age 25) that I have gluten and dairy allergies. I live on carbs and am quite terrified of how i will cut them out so that i can feel like a normal human being when I eat. If you have any tips on how you made the transition with your family and how you adjusted to it I would greatly appreciate it. I am not big on dairy, but I do eat cereal and yogurt, and things of that nature.
At first it’s very overwhelming, but after a small learning curve you’ll get used to it! There are many great tasting gluten and dairy free alternatives out there (and some bad ones!) that you can use to make your favorite dishes. You just need to try some out and see which ones you like best. See my Pantry Essentials page for products and ingredients I love and frequently use. And try to always keep a few things in the freezer and pantry for those last minute get together’s – I try to keep pizza and cupcakes in my freezer 🙂 I hope this helps, hang in there!
I love your new site!!!
I also have a son named Lance, only he is 41!!!
I am so grateful to have found your site as I have discovered I have gluten, soy and dairy sensitivities.
I had an ALCAT blood test that also showed I should avoid, sugar, corn, rice, and several other foods.
With sites like yours, I can bake and really able to eat almost normally. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you so much for the nice comments Linda. It’s hard to avoid so many foods but it can be done! I hope you enjoy my recipes 🙂

Hello again Cassidy! Since I last put a review in to let you know how my Bob’s Red Mill almond meal/flour bread turned out, I have made it several times over and shared the breads with family and co-workers. The military commissary started stocking hazelnut meal/flour and curious if this will be a good substitute. Have you ever experiment using hazelnut meal/flour in your bread recipe? Thanks again for that wonderful bread recipe. God Bless You!
PS. My sister now only eats your bread. She makes an open-face PBJ every day as her snack. Of course, she only uses no sugar added jelly and organic almond butter.
I’m so happy you and your sister like my bread so much!!! I’ve never baked with hazelnut meal/flour so I can’t say for sure, but I would imagine it would would be very similar to almond flour when baking with only a slight difference in taste. If you try it let me know what how it turns out!!!
I made the paleo, gluten free sandwich bread and it came out as really small slices. If I want it to be regular slices, are you able to tell me how much yeast to add or suggest a yeast sandwich bread recipe?
