This Ultimate Green Smoothie is the perfect way to start your day! It's chock full of nutrients and has a small amount of protein and fat to keep you full.

I know many people are transitioning into fall. This means warm spices, baking, and crockpots and a green breakfast smoothie recipe doesn't seem very fall-like.

However, with the heavier eating this time of year, now is the perfect time to start drinking this green smoothie to start your day off right!

Since I started drinking this every morning I've had more energy, my face has cleared up (well... mostly anyway!) and I feel better in the mornings now.

At first glance, this smoothie may seem unappetizing given the number of greens but I promise, this smoothie really does taste great!

It's so good my entire family has agreed to drink some every morning with breakfast - YES! Not only is it chock full of nutrients but having it blended into a creamy consistency helps your body absorb the maximum amount of nutrition.

It also contains a small amount of healthy fat and protein to help keep you full longer!

    Ingredients

    • Lemons- Have vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and copper. Aids in digestion and detoxification, and is good for your skin.
    • Kale- Kale has been shown to lower glucose levels, helps lower cholesterol, can help lower risk of cancer, can help your body detox, has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.
    • Romaine Lettuce- Contain protein, calcium, omega-3's, vitamin A (more than a carrot!), iron, vitamins, and minerals.
    • Spinach- Good for your hair, skin, nails, and bones. It also provides protein, iron, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and can help lower blood pressure, blood sugar, and can help fight and prevent cancer because it contains chlorophyll which helps fight carcinogens from grilling food at a high temperature.
    • Cucumbers- They contain vitamin K, B vitamins, copper, potassium, vitamin C, and manganese. They are also anti-inflammatory, have anti-oxidants, and support digestion. .
    • Avocado- Adds a small amount of healthy fat, vitamin K, potassium, folate, vitamin C, and B vitamins. They are also loaded with fiber and may help reduce cholesterol.
    • Collagen Peptides- Add protein, amino acids, helps improved digestions, and is good for your skin, hair, nails, bones, and joints. THIS is what I use.
    • Pears- Extremely high in fiber, Contain anti-oxidants, folate, minerals, and vitamins C, K, B2, B3, and B6.
    • Apples- They are extremely rich in flavonoids, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. They help with reflux and may also help to fight off cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease.
    • Bananas- Contains fiber, potassium, vitamin B6, Vitamin C, magnesium, copper, and manganese. They help regulate blood sugar, improve digestion, and only contain around 100 calories each.

    Expert Tips

    • For a lower-carb/keto green smoothie, reduce or omit the fruit and add liquid vanilla stevia to taste. If you're new to green smoothies, I recommend slowly cutting out the fruit to adjust your palate first.
    • Please use fresh lemon! The reconstituted stuff just isn't the same.
