These sweet and spicy Paleo Pork Chops With A Chipotle Cherry Glaze are easy to make and bursting with flavor!
Every time I tell my husband we're having these paleo pork chops he asks if I'm making the cherry ones because they're his absolute favorite!
I started making this recipe years ago but have changed it dramatically over the years to make it healthier and suit our dietary needs.
The original recipe called for white sugar, a can of cherry pie filling, and around a ยฝ cup of orange juice - making the recipe quite unhealthy and loaded with sugar and high fructose corn syrup.
I've made this recipe paleo-friendly (and low-carb if needed!) by swapping out the sugar with erythritol or coconut palm sugar, the cherry pie filling with cherry preserves (can use sugar-free), and using orange essential oil and orange zest to cut the carbs if needed.
It still has all the great flavor - but without all the excess sugar and unhealthy ingredients!
The sweetener
This recipe doesn't need a lot of sweeteners because the preserves sweeten them quite a bit. However, I do like to add some sweetener to the pork chops before grilling.
For the sweetener, any granulated sweetener will work.
For low-carb and keto, feel free to use any keto granulated sweetener. My favorite sweeteners are Besti Sweeteners.
If you're Paleo, I recommend coconut palm sugar.

🔪 Easy instructions
Sprinkle both sides of the pork chops with cinnamon, sweetener, and sea salt.
Then, cook them on the stove until just cooked through. Be sure not to overcook them or they'll be dry.
After the pork chops are cooked, set them aside on a serving dish and cover with foil to keep warm.
For the topping, mix together orange essential oil (or orange juice if not counting carbs), minced garlic, cherry or raspberry preserves (can use sugar-free), red wine vinegar, and chipotle pepper in adobe sauce.
The chipotle pepper adds nice flavor and heat without making the dish too spicy. If you like things spicier though, you can always leave the seeds in the pepper instead of removing them like me 🙂
Mix all the topping ingredients over medium-high heat in the same pan you cooked the pork chops in. Stir until bubbly and well combined.
Pour the sauce over the pork chops and top with green onions. And that's it!! Easy, sweet and spicy paleo carb pork chops with a chipotle cherry glaze!!!
💭 Top tips
- This recipe works best with chops that are no more than 1-inch thick. Bone-in and boneless both work well.
- For low-carb and keto, use any keto-friendly sweetener, my favorite sweeteners are Besti Sweeteners. Then, use sugar-free preserves and replace the orange juice with orange essential oil or the zest of 1 large orange.

Paleo Pork Chops - With A Cherry Chipotle Glaze!
Ingredients
- 6 Pork Chops - preferably no more than 1-inch thick, boneless or bone-in both work well.
- ½ Tsp. Sea Salt
- ½ Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- ½ Tsp. Coconut Palm Sugar - or keto sweetener for low-carb, see notes below
- 2 tablespoon Oil of Choice (avocado, olive, or coconut) - as needed
- 1 Cup Cherry or Raspberry Preserves - can use sugar frree
- ¼ Cup Purified Water
- ¼ Cup Orange Juice - or 4 drops Orange Essential Oil for low-carb (use therapeutic grade made for consumption)
- 2 Tbsp. Red Wine Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. Chopped Chipotle Pepper in Adobo Sauce + 1 teaspoon Of The Adobe Sauce From The Can - seeded to reduce heat if desired
- 1 Clove Garlic - minced
- Thinly Sliced Green Onion - optional, for garnish
- Dried Cherries - optional, for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
- Sprinkle the mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
- Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once heated, add as many pork chops as will fit comfortably. Cook, uncovered, until browned. Flip over and cook until just cooked through. For thin-cut pork chops (ยผ-1/2 inch) this will take 3-4 minutes per side and for thick-cut (around 1 inch) this will take 7-8 minutes per side. Do not overcook or they will be dry. Remove to a serving platter and cover with foil to keep warm. Repeat for remaining pork chops if you couldn't fit them all in one skillet.
Note- If your pan has brown bits on the bottom it's fine, but if it looks and smells burned, place it under running water and scrub off the burned bits before proceeding.
- For the sauce: In the same skillet, combine the garlic, water, cherry preserves, orange essential oil or orange juice, red wine vinegar, and chipotle pepper. Cook and stir until bubbly and heated through.
- If you prefer your sauce to be thicker, add in the tapioca flour mixed with cold water and stir until thickened.
- Pour sauce over pork chops and garnish with green onion and dried cherries.

Best. Pork Chops. Ever!!! I couldn't find the pepper so just used McCormick's chipotle dry seasoning (1TBSP) and it worked great. I will for sure be making these again!!!

I'm happy you liked them so much! They are my husbands favorite ๐ ...I'll have to try using the chipotle dry seasoning, I end up using one pepper and throwing the rest out cause I don't use them often enough and they go bad. Thanks!

This sounds incredible. Better still is that I could see this as doable in a crock pot, just replace the cops with a pork shoulder, sear it with the seasonings as you would the chops, then combine the sauce ingredients and pour them over the shoulder in the crock pot then let it cook for 6-8 hours.
